Trip budget calculator

Pick a procedure, a city and where you fly from, and the total shows what the whole trip is likely to cost. Swap in your clinic's written quote when you have one.

Every pre-filled figure is an estimate with its source shown, and you can change any of them. It all runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us.

Your trip

The NHS advises not flying for 7 to 10 days after facial cosmetic surgery. Your surgeon sets the real dates, so change the nights to match their plan.

We put in a typical surgery price where we have one. When a clinic sends a written quote, type its total here, and check whether it already covers the hotel or transfers so you don't count them twice.

Typical costs

One room, shared if someone comes with you.

KAYAK averages the lowest fare it found each month over the past 12 months. What you pay is often higher.

A taxi from the airport to the city centre and back.

One cheap restaurant meal and half a mid-range dinner for two. Breakfast is assumed to come with the hotel.

Cover and extras

Left empty on purpose: prices depend on the policy, your age and what it covers. The NHS notes that standard travel insurance usually doesn't cover complications from surgery, so ask an insurer for a quote that does.

Other costs are anything the quote leaves out. The buffer is a percentage on top of everything above, for extra nights or a rebooked flight. Both are optional.

This is a planning aid, not a quote. The city figures are averages from public sources, converted at fixed rates; the surgery price is our own estimate. A hotel, airline or clinic will charge whatever it charges on the day you book.

Before you rely on the total

  • Ask for an itemised written quote and check what it includes: surgeon, facility, anaesthesia, tests, follow-up, revision policy, hotel nights, transfers and the currency.
  • Your length of stay and the date you can fly home come from your surgeon, not from this tool.
  • Read the exclusions of any insurance before you count on it.

Our free clinic checklist lists the questions to ask before you book.
