Yes, a brow lift and a rhinoplasty can be done in the same operation, and some surgeons offer it. The evidence behind it is thin, though: a handful of small case series, not large trials. Whether it makes sense for you is a decision for a qualified surgeon who has examined your face.
Key takeaways
- Yes, some surgeons operate on the brow and the nose in one session, but the published evidence is limited to small case series.
- A longer combined operation means longer anesthesia, and surgeons set their own time limits.
- In common practice in Turkey, the stay is the same as for the main procedure when combined, and the price is usually discounted (editorial note, October 2026).
- A brow lift and rhinoplasty each have their own recovery, so how the two overlap in your case is a question for your surgeon.

Can a brow lift and rhinoplasty be done in the same operation?
They can. The most direct study is a 2013 report in Aesthetic Surgery Journal by a single surgical team, Daniel and colleagues. It reviewed 24 patients who had a rhinoplasty and a brow modification together over two years. Some had a central brow lift and others a full endoscopic forehead lift. Average follow-up was 18 months. One patient had fluid collect between the brows and needed drainage, and one asked for further refinement of the nasal tip.
The authors argue that raising the central brow changes how the nose and the area between the eyes look together. That is their interpretation from one surgeon’s patients. The study had no comparison group, so it cannot tell you how often problems happen, only that the team reported few.
A second, broader report looked at 25 patients who had several facial procedures in one session, including a brow lift and rhinoplasty. Gupta and colleagues (2019) reported four infections and one pulmonary embolism two months after surgery, and no problems with blood supply to the lifted tissue. They concluded that complications were limited to those already known for each individual procedure. This series involved facial feminization surgery, a larger and different operation, so it does not map neatly onto a brow lift plus a nose job.
What does a brow lift involve?
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) describes a brow lift, also called a forehead lift, as surgery that reduces forehead wrinkles, improves frown lines and places the eyebrows in a more youthful position. It can raise sagging brows that hood the upper eyelids.
ASPS lists these risks on its risks and safety page:
- Anesthesia risks, bleeding, infection and fluid collection
- Poor wound healing and unfavorable scarring
- Hair loss around the incisions and an elevated hairline
- Numbness, itching or other changes in skin sensation
- Facial nerve injury with weakness
- Facial asymmetry and the possibility of revision surgery
Rhinoplasty has its own list of risks, so a combined operation adds one list to the other rather than replacing it. If the brow is your main concern, our guide to upper blepharoplasty explains when eyelid skin, not brow position, is the cause of a heavy look.
What are the trade-offs of operating on both at once?
ASPS, in an article on combining procedures (August 2023), lists the usual reasons patients ask for it: one operation, one recovery period and a single anesthesia fee. It lists facelifts combined with brow lifts as a common pairing.
The same article is clear about the other side. Some combinations raise the risk of complications, and longer operations mean more anesthesia risk. The surgeons it quotes set their own limits on total operating time, one citing about six hours and another four to five. If a combined plan runs past what your surgeon is comfortable with, they may split it into two operations.
You will see claims elsewhere that combining surgeries “does not increase the risk much” or that a combined operation takes a set number of hours. Published studies do not back either claim for this pairing. Time and risk depend on the techniques, your health and the surgeon.
How long is recovery after a combined operation?
When combined, the stay is the same as for the main procedure (editorial note, October 2026).
Published sources give no recovery figure for the combination. For a brow lift alone, ASPS says initial wound healing may take 10 to 14 days, with healing continuing for several weeks as swelling subsides and incision lines fade, and full recovery taking several months. Its rhinoplasty pages note that swelling of the nose can take up to a year to fully settle.
So the recoveries overlap in time, but the nose and the forehead each follow their own schedule. Our guide to rhinoplasty recovery over the long term covers the nose side. Ask your surgeon for a written timeline that covers both areas, including when you can return to work and when you can travel.
Does combining the two save money?
In common practice in Turkey, the combined price is usually discounted against the two operations booked separately. In published sources, ASPS names the anesthesia fee as the one clear saving. Beyond that, each procedure usually has its own surgeon’s fee and facility charges, and a longer operation can cost more in operating room time. Ask for an itemized quote for the combined plan and for each procedure separately, then compare. Our Turkey rhinoplasty budget guide shows how to read a package price line by line.
What should you ask your surgeon about a combined operation?
- Why do you suggest operating on both areas together, and what would change if we did them separately?
- How many combined brow and nose operations have you done, and what complications have you seen?
- Which brow technique do you plan to use, and where will the incisions be?
- How long will the whole operation and anesthesia last?
- Which facility will you use, and who monitors me afterward?
- What happens if one area heals differently from the other?
- What does the revision policy cover for each part?
- How much of the price is saved by combining?
If you are weighing several procedures at once, see our overview of what can be combined with rhinoplasty and the question of whether more surgery at once is better. To judge who should answer these questions, start with what matters most when choosing a rhinoplasty surgeon.
