How long to stay in Turkey for each procedure
Planning nights for fourteen facial procedures, what the sources say about flying and stitches, and what each extra night costs.

Nobody can give you a night count that fits every patient. Your surgeon decides when you can fly, and that depends on the operation, how you heal and what the follow-up needs. What this table gives you is a planning number to budget with and the stitch and follow-up dates that published sources give.
The NHS advises against flying for 7 to 10 days after facial cosmetic surgery. The planning nights below run from 8 to 10, inside that window. They are defaults for the budget calculator, not medical advice.
| Procedure | Nights to plan | What the sources say |
|---|---|---|
| Rhinoplasty (nose job) | 8 | The NHS nose page mentions a splint for about 7 days. |
| Revision rhinoplasty | 8 | Typically 8 to 10 nights in Turkey (editorial note, October 2026). |
| Eyelid surgery, upper | 8 | Our eyelid guide puts stitch removal at around day 7 to 14 for upper lids. |
| Eyelid surgery, lower | 8 | Our eyelid guide puts stitch removal at around day 5 to 7 for lower lids. |
| Eyelid surgery, upper and lower | 8 | Our eyelid guide puts stitch removal at around day 5 to 7 for lower lids and day 7 to 14 for upper lids. |
| Facelift (including deep plane) | 10 | The NHS facelift page says stitches come out after about 7 to 14 days, unless they dissolve. In Turkey, stays are typically 8 to 10 nights, with drains usually out on day 2 or 3 (editorial note, October 2026). |
| Neck lift | 10 | No separate figure; our neck lift guide applies the NHS facelift range of about 7 to 14 days. |
| Brow lift | 10 | Our brow lift guide cites about 10 to 14 days for first healing, from ASPS. |
| Forehead reduction (hairline lowering) | 8 | Ask the surgeon for the date. |
| Chin implant | 8 | Ask the surgeon when stitches come out and when you can fly. |
| Genioplasty (sliding chin) | 8 | Typically 7 to 8 nights in Turkey (editorial note, October 2026). |
| Jaw angle implant | 8 | Ask the surgeon for the date. |
| Cheek (buccal fat) surgery | 8 | Ask the surgeon for the date. |
| Lip lift | 8 | Our lip lift guide cites a 2026 review that removes skin stitches on day 5 to 7. |
Editorial notes reflect what we see in the Turkish market, not a medical rule. Ask the surgeon who will operate for the date, and get it in writing before you book flights.
What a longer stay costs
If your surgeon asks you to stay two more nights, the hotel, food and local transport in Istanbul add about €267. The same two nights cost less or more in other Turkish cities, as the table shows.
| City | Hotel | Food and local transport | Per night | Two extra nights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Istanbul | €87 | €46 | €133 | €267 |
| Antalya | €135 | €37 | €173 | €345 |
| Izmir | €96 | €41 | €137 | €274 |
| Ankara | €72 | €38 | €110 | €220 |
If the return flight has to move, add the change fee under “other costs” in the calculator. The city pages break these figures down and show how each hotel price was measured.
Method and sources
- Turkish surgery prices are an editorial estimate from October 2026: the surgeon’s fee for the operation only. They are not a quote from any clinic, and a written quote can differ.
- UK prices are the guide ranges the NHS cosmetic surgery pages publish for private surgery. Each page carries its own review date, shown in the table.
- Trip costs for one traveller in one room, insurance not included. Totals use the typical figure for hotel, food, local transport and transfers, and the low and high fare for the flight.

Everything is converted with one fixed table of rates, so the figures do not move from day to day. Totals are rounded to the nearest 10. This page is general planning information, not medical advice, and it does not recommend a clinic or a surgeon.
